Unfortunately in Punjab, 10 % of the population is still deprived of safe drinking water, people are suffering from illnesses due to drinking contaminated water, children’s stunned growth is hover.
1,000 new water filtration plants are being provided with clean water in the villages, the canal water is being cleaned in Renala microscopic and provided to thousands of people. Arsenic quantity in most districts including Lahore, Kasur, Rahim Yar Khan is dangerous.
These views were expressed by representatives of the government and civil society in the “Express Forum” held on “World Water Day”. Ahsan Kamre performed the forum support duties. DG Punjab Clean Water Authority Chief Engineer Zohaib Butt said that the authority was established to give all the people access to clean water.
Initially, we are the targets of the districts where there is no clean water, in the villages where there is more than 4,000 population, a water plant has been set up and more than a thousand plants have been set up so far, the canal water is being cleaned in Renala Khurd and providing 15,000 people.
Water Expert Mubarak Ali Sarwar said that this year’s World Water Day is the subject of “water peace” which emphasizes access to water for all, 90 % of people in Punjab have access to clean water. People are suffering from many diseases and the mental and physical development of children is diminishing.
He said that the amount of arsenic in most districts including Lahore, Kasur, Rahim Yar Khan is dangerous.
