A school in the northern town of Nigeria killed 17 students and injured several others.
According to a foreign news agency report, 17 children were killed and several others were injured in a fire at a school in Koran Namoda, a town in northern Nigeria. Children were being given religious education at the school.
Police said that several children who were injured in the fire have been shifted to the hospital. The children studying at the school were between 7 and 17 years old.
He said that the number of children injured in the burning is more than 12, who are seriously injured.
Investigations have been launched to determine the cause of the fire, spokesman Yazid Abu Bakar said.
Hussein Adamo, the father of two children, who died in the school fire, said the fire broke out in a house near the school and spread to an outbreak of Islamic school.
