Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has said that 50 districts of Pakistan are affected by polio, he has appealed to the citizens to seek vaccination to children.
The third national polio campaign has been launched across the country, under which the target of polio vaccination has been set to 4 million 58 million children. On the occasion, Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal appealed to the parents emotionally at a news conference at the National Emergency Operations Center Islamabad to be part of the national campaign and to give polio drops to protect their children from permanent disability.
The Federal Health Minister said that this is the second time that a polio campaign has been launched simultaneously in Pakistan and Afghanistan, which aims to make the region a polio -free. He said that God belongs to the parents that it is for the betterment of their children. Hands are requested to help us protect children from polio.
The Minister of Health said that polio is a disease that once happens, it lives together for a lifetime. There is a cancer treatment, but there is no polio cure. He warned parents that on the Day of Resurrection, those who do not vaccinate children will be responsible for the crime.
He emphasized that there is no authenticity in the negatives spread against the campaign. This is not a conspiracy, but a pure human service. He said, “Do not think of the bitterness of my accent, understand the intention of my desire.”
The Federal Minister also revealed that the presence of polio virus in 50 districts of Pakistan has proved, which is a dangerous gesture. Polio has ended from all over the world except Pakistan and Afghanistan. Now it is the responsibility of only two countries to protect their future generations from this curse.
Referring to the situation in Afghanistan, he said that a vigorous polio campaign is underway all over Afghanistan, Kandahar is the only area where children are being vaccinated by calling them in mosques instead of going home.
Mustafa Kamal appealed to the nation that just as we became a lead against India, they were united against polio. He made it clear that the police would not say anything to the parents who did not vaccinate, the police would only provide security.
At the end of his talks, the Minister said that he prayed for the future of the future generations of Pakistan and Afghanistan and hope that everyone will understand their responsibility and will play their role in this national war against polio.
