The 53rd martyrdom anniversary of Sawar Muhammad Hussain Shaheed, who set an everlasting example of courage, bravery and sacrifice in the war of 1971 and was the first Nishan-e-Haider awardee of Pakistan, is being celebrated today with reverence and respect.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, the chiefs of the three armed forces and the armed forces paid tribute to the unparalleled sacrifice of Sawar Muhammad Hussain Shaheed.
According to the ISPR statement, Mohammad Hussain Shaheed, riding in the Zafarwal-Shakargarh sector during the 1971 war, played a key role in destroying 16 enemy tanks with his unparalleled courage.
He was martyred by machine gun fire while serving on the front line against the enemy while performing his duty.
The military leadership says that the sacrifice of Sawar Muhammad Hussain Shaheed is a torch for the nation and he is a manifestation of the unshakable determination of the Pakistan Army to defend the dear motherland.
In its statement, ISPR said that the nation will always remember the sacrifices of these brave sons who sacrificed their lives for the survival and sanctity of the country.
The ISPR further said that the bravery and loyalty of Sawar Muhammad Hussain Shaheed will always be written in golden letters in the history of Pakistan. His spirit of sacrifice is still a source of pride for the Pakistan Army and the nation.
