LAHORE: The Punjab authorities will improve 800 major colleges to greater ranges, the province’s training minister Murad Ras mentioned Wednesday.
Under the “Insaf Afternoon School Programme”, the training ministry has “already upgraded several primary schools”, the training minister mentioned whereas talking on Hum News present “Subah Say Agay”.
Ras mentioned that he took the initiative to extend the colleges’ enrolment as he was knowledgeable {that a} “shocking” 70% of pupils dropped out after finishing the fifth grade.
“So when I got the data, I thought that building schools would take us nearly 2-3 years and millions of rupees would be spent on it, which we don’t have,” he mentioned.
“To overcome this challenge, we upgraded primary schools and asked the teachers — who give lessons in the evening — to teach classes 6,7, and 8,” he mentioned, including that as compensation, the federal government supplied them with an honorarium.
The colleges that operate within the afternoon, in accordance with Raas, introduced 22,000 college students again to the classroom, including that almost all of them had been women.
