The Islamabad High Court has issued a written order on the request of Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui regarding the health, release and repatriation of Dr. Aafia.
Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan issued a one-page order according to which the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told the court that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has approved the summary of expenses of the delegation to the US.
This is very welcome, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the visas of the delegation said that all efforts are being made, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs submitted the passports along with the visa applications last Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is fully hopeful. That visas will be available.
The court was told that the Ministry of External Affairs is in constant contact with the American Consulate for this purpose, while the passports of Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui and Dr. Iqbal are not being withdrawn.
According to the order, US Attorney Smith’s latest statement requests logistical and similar assistance for the delegation’s visit, adding that Smith’s firm had lobbied and would pursue the request, the order said. The next hearing is scheduled for December 13.
