A petition for contempt of court was filed in the Lahore High Court against the Chief Minister of Punjab

Lahore:

A petition for contempt of court was filed against Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in Lahore High Court.

Citizen Akmal Khan Bari approached the court through advocate Khurram Latif Khosa, in which Chief Minister Punjab, IG Punjab Police, CCPO Lahore and others have been made parties.

In the application, the citizen is of the opinion that the Lahore High Court had ordered to stop the illegal harassment of the petitioner on November 22. An arrest was made in case number 863/24 of Rang Mahal Police Station of Ghazar.

The citizen has taken the position in the application that he was discharged from the case on November 23 by the Anti-Terrorism Court, but on the evening of November 23 he was again illegally arrested in Islampura Police Station Case No. 3691/24, ATC Court. discharged again from the case on November 25 but was illegally arrested by Shafiqabad police station on November 26 in Case No. 4250/24, the Sessions Court in this case I also discharged.

According to the petitioner, the local police is continuously harassing the petitioner and the parties are deliberately violating the court order of November 22. In order to uphold the dignity of the court among the common people, the violation of the order is dealt with strictly according to law. And action should be taken under Article 204 of the Constitution for ignoring the court order.

The citizen requested that the court should order the implementation of the court order of November 22 and initiate contempt of court proceedings by summoning the parties in person.
