In Afghanistan, two passenger buses traveling from the capital Kabul to Kandahar have suffered massive casualties in separate accidents.

According to the international news organization, these two accidents happened on the main highway of Ghazni province in between while going from Kabul to Kandahar.

In the first accident, a passenger bus collided with a fuel tanker, while in the second accident, a passenger bus and a truck collided on the same highway.

Hafiz Umar, the spokesman of the governor of Ghazni province, said that a total of 52 people died and more than 65 were injured in the two accidents.

Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said that the relevant authorities have been instructed to immediately investigate the two incidents, identify the causes and prevent such tragedies in the future.

Zabihullah Mujahid further said that the injured were taken to different hospitals in Ghazni while seriously injured passengers are being shifted to Kabul.

Women and children are also among those who died in the accident. Due to the critical condition of more than a dozen passengers, the death toll is expected to increase.

It should be noted that traffic accidents are common in Afghanistan, which has been at war for decades, due to bad roads, dangerous driving on highways, and non-observance of traffic laws.

In March of this year, a bus collided with an oil tanker in southern Helmand province and burned in a terrible fire, killing more than 20 people and injuring 38.
