The Indian Cricket Board knelt after the objection of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over the issue of not writing the name of the host country Pakistan on the jersey of the Indian team for the Champions Trophy 2025.
In recent media reports, it was said that the Indian Cricket Board has raised an objection to allegedly printing ‘Pakistan’ (the name of the host country) on the team’s jersey for the Champions Trophy.
Media reports said that since the Indian team will play its matches in Dubai, it does not want to write the name of Pakistan on the team’s jersey.
However, the ICC has reportedly given a message to the Indian board that wherever they want to play their matches, they are bound to write the name ‘Pakistan’ on the kit of the Indian team as Pakistan is the actual host of the tournament.
After the implementation of the hybrid model for the Champions Trophy 2025, the Indian team will play its matches in Dubai, but Pakistan is the host of the event and according to ICC rules, the name of the country that is hosting the event is written on the jersey of that country. India was trying to politicize here too and was reluctant to print the name of the country.

After these reports came to light, a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official said that India was trying to ‘politicize cricket’ by refusing to print Pakistan’s name on the jerseys of its team players. The official had said that now the objection to printing ‘Pakistan’ (the name of the host country) on the jersey is clearly an attempt to create controversy, which will be given a strong response.
