Air operation suspended due to strained situation, closed air routes to Lahore and Sialkot

Lahore:

Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority has temporarily suspended aerial operations across the country in view of the recent tense situation, which has resulted in the cancellation of all flights from Lahore Airport at home and abroad.

According to airport officials, the decision has been made due to the current domestic situation and security concerns. A flight from Dubai to Lahore was diverted from Karachi while a PIA flight from Medina to Lahore has also been diverted.

According to sources, another PIA flight from Multan to Karachi was also forced to adopt alternative routes due to delay. The affected flight was to land in Lahore at 4pm and 15 minutes.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority’s Note (NOTam), the air routes of Lahore and Sialkot have been closed for commercial flights, which will remain suspended till 12 noon. The final decision to restore the flight operation is subject to government approval.

According to officials, more than 18 flights have been affected by the suspension of flight operations so far.
