The Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Monday introduced the election for AJK’s president is scheduled to happen on August 17 — from 10am to 2pm.

The nomination papers might be filed on August 12 from 10am to 12pm and, on the identical day, officers will scrutinise them, the election fee stated in a notification.

The candidates can withdraw their nominations until August 16 (11:30am).

The polling will happen on August 17 from 10am to 2pm on the AJK Legislative Assembly Hall, the notification stated.

The newly-elected president will take oath on August 24, because the outgoing President Sardar Masood Khan’s tenure will finish on the identical day.

Last week, PTI candidate Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi received elected as the brand new prime minister of Azad Kashmir by a cushty margin.
