
The hearing of the alleged harassment case against the former captain of the national cricket team, Babar Azam, was postponed in the Lahore High Court.
In the Lahore High Court, a hearing was held on an application in the case of alleged harassment against former captain Babar Azam. During the hearing, the victim of alleged harassment also appeared in the court.
In the absence of Babar Azam’s senior counsel, Barrister Haris Azmat, his junior counsel sought adjournment of the case, which was accepted by the court.
The court remarked that the matter is pending since ‘2021’ and every time adjournment of the case is requested. The court while talking to Babar Azam’s lawyer said, you have obtained an injunction from 2021 and do not even appear in the court.
The woman’s lawyer took the stand that this is a case of adultery and Babar Azam raped her on the pretense of marriage. The lawyer further said that the cricketer also has to pay Rs 12 lakh to the woman.
The court accepted the plea of Babar Azam’s lawyer to adjourn the hearing and adjourned the case till December 16 and recommended to send the case file to Justice Asjad Javed Gharal for further hearing.
It should be noted that this case was under hearing in the court of Justice Waheed Khan, in which the court has maintained the already issued injunction on the decision to register the case against Babar Azam.
