US Citizenship for Indian Children : US President Donald Trump has issued an executive order to ban American citizenship based on birth for children of temporary visa holders. His order has shocked Indians, especially Indians among the immigrants of America.
However, after challenging this order in various courts of America, the implementation of this policy has been banned at present. But, this policy of Trump has soon implicated thousands of Indians who become parents.
Expectations started to be released after Trump’s order
Trump’s order is a big setback for Indian professionals working in America by taking H-1B visa. Because many people had assumed that after being born in America, their children would get automatic American citizenship, but Trump’s executive order has started to lose this expectation.
Indian citizens spoke on Trump’s orders
Indian engineer Akshay Pissy, who lives in San Jose, California, told the BBC that his wife Neha Satpute is going to be a mother this month. Akshay said, “This order directly affects us. If this order comes into force in America, I do not know what will happen next. “
Neha Satpute said, “When we came close to the date of delivery, we thought of early delivery, but then left this idea. Because I want my delivery to be from the natural process. ” At the same time, Akshay Pissy said, “My priority is to get my wife’s health and safe delivery. Thinking about citizenship comes after that. “
At the same time, Priyanasi Jaju, who lives in San Jose, told that she is going to be a mother in April. He told the BBC, “Should we contact the Indian Embassy for passport? Which visa will apply? We do not know any correct information about it. “
Parents are concerned about American citizenship
After the executive order of US President Donald Trump, couples who became parents were surrounded by concerns about the American citizenship to the children. Due to this concern, many couples had come to conduct C-section to secure American citizenship for their children before this order came into force. But the American Association of Physician of Indian Origin (AAPI) President Satish Katula advised people not to do so. He said, “In a country with a medical law like America, I do not recommend pre-term C-section just to gain citizenship.”
