A large number of passengers, including crew members, were injured during an emergency landing in Lagos, Nigeria, due to a technical failure of the United Airlines Boeing 787-8.
According to international media reports, United Airlines Flight UA 613 was carrying 245 passengers, 8 flight attendants and 3 pilots when it crashed in Nigeria.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria gave details of the emergency landing that the flight had departed from Murtala Muhammed International Airport but made an emergency landing after 3 hours and 23 minutes due to lack of pressure.
The statement said that upon landing, Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighter Service, Aviation Medical and Aviation Security teams took positions at Gate D31, but the flight did not suffer any further accidents and the doors of the plane were opened 15 minutes later. .
The report said that due to the emergency landing, there were in-flight medical problems and four passengers and two crew members were seriously injured during the landing.
It was further informed that apart from them 27 passengers and 5 crew members have received minor injuries.
Aviation medical ambulances transported the injured from the United Airlines flight to the hospital for medical attention after the emergency landing in Lagos. Medical aid was given and discharged.
According to the report, the seriously injured have been transferred to Duchess Hospital, Iqeja, and many passengers have also been provided with hotel facilities.
A passenger of the flight said on social media that during the flight there was a dramatic emergency and the plane was depressurized and several passengers were injured.
He said that during the emergency landing, his head hit the roof of the plane and he lost consciousness for some time, but he recovered after receiving medical attention.
The United Airlines flight was scheduled to fly from Lagos, Nigeria to the US capital, Washington DC, but it faced emergency conditions for about 4 hours.
