
The anti-narcotics force foiled a smuggling attempt by seizing 700 kg of methamphetamine (ice) being smuggled abroad during an operation at the South Asia Pakistan terminal of Karachi port.
According to the spokesperson of ANF, a historic operation was conducted at the South Asia Pakistan Terminal Karachi based on intelligence information, during which an attempt to smuggle a large amount of ice abroad was foiled and an accused has been arrested.
According to the spokesperson of ANF, 700 kg of methamphetamine (ice) was recovered from a container booked for Malaysia. The exported ice was being mixed with calcium carbonate and was being smuggled. The presence of ice has been identified in the calcium carbonate in about 28 bags taken. The accused resident of Karachi who booked the container was arrested.
The container was booked by a private company based in Karachi for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Investigations are on with the arrested suspect to arrest other suspects. F is committed to combating drug trafficking both domestically and internationally.
