
Islamabad:
Comstech (Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Corporation), a subsidiary of the Organization of Islamic Countries, has decided to further increase the 5,000 scholarships allocated to Palestinian students.
This was announced by scientists and academicians of Islamic countries under COMSTEC at the annual meeting that started in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The opening ceremony of this two-day meeting started under the title COMSTEC Consortium of Excellence (CCOE) was presided over by Dr. Iqbal Chaudhry, Coordinator General of COMSTEC.
Apart from 39 delegates from 13 Islamic countries, delegates from China and Russia are also participating in the meeting.
Experts from Palestine, Somalia, Oman, Iran, Malaysia, Russia and other countries are participating in the meeting. In addition to Dr. Iqbal Chaudhry, Chief Scientist of Institute of Drug Discovery Technology, Ningbo University, China, Dr. Liu Xinmin, Director General of Pastic, Ikram Sheikh, participated in the opening ceremony. Chairperson Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority of Pakistan Zia Batul also spoke.
