Islamabad:
Pakistan Railways has signed an important contract with the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries in which the Railway Minister has approved the Freight Train project.
Minister for Railways Mohammad Hanif Abbasi met with the delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Railway Minister took a detailed briefing from DS Rawalpindi regarding the assets of the railway in Rawalpindi. He highlighted high courage measures for the development and innovation of Pakistan Railways.
Federal Minister Hanif Abbasi said that the delivery period of goods from Karachi to Rawalpindi will be reduced by 4 days through the freight train project, which is taking the move to reduce the rising traffic burden on the roads.
He said that under the agreement, the dry port chamber of the railway would be outsourced and it would not only make business development but also increase the national treasury.
Hanif Abbasi said that the freight train project will not only increase the revenue of Pakistan Railways but will accelerate the pace of economic growth of the country.
“We have done things in just a year and a half that have not been done in the last 20 years. We are showing the best of our resources to show Pakistan Railways a new and powerful path,” he said.
The Minister of Railways announced the road show in all Railway Division and instructed all DS to meet with the relevant Chambers of Commerce and share a strong partnership to work jointly. He said that together we will improve the future of Pakistan Railways and open new doors of partnerships.
“We signed a contract with RWMC to clean up three stations in Rawalpindi,” said Hanif Abbasi. Cleaning is half faith, it is our primary duty to provide the best travel facilities for our travelers.
The Minister said that we are making a heritage here that will prove to be a valuable gift for the coming generations. This is the moment when we are fulfilling our responsibilities properly and making a new start for the future of Pakistan Railways.
