
The Athletics Federation of Pakistan has decided to hire a foreign coach for the training of athletes including Julian Throw gold medalist Arshad Nadeem.
The meeting held in Islamabad was attended by representatives of a large number of units affiliated to the Athletics Federation of Pakistan, including provinces and departments.
On this occasion, Arshad Nadeem, who won gold medal for Pakistan in Paris Olympics, was felicitated and it was decided that Arshad Nadeem, Yasir and Shajar Abbas will be trained as international quality coaches for future competitions. Training will be provided so that Pakistan can win more medals.
On this occasion, it was decided to speed up the preparations for the Clean Cross Athletics Championship to be hosted by Pakistan.
In the meeting, measures should be taken to find new talent from the grassroots across the country and such children who are deprived of facilities should be provided with training as well as education facilities.
Once again it was decided that there will be no compromise on doping, the meeting also decided that the Athletics Federation of Pakistan will provide operational and technical support for marathons and road races in the country.
In the General Council meeting, it was also decided that the marketing department will also be activated along with increasing the sponsorship pool instead of government funding.
It was also decided that steps will be taken to enhance the skills of the existing coaches and technical officials in Pakistan, who are currently part of the Pakistan Coaches PhD program, which will further develop the sport of athletics in the country. It will be beneficial.
At the end of the meeting, the good performance of Arshad Nadeem and other athletes in international competitions under the supervision of former President of Athletes Federation of Pakistan Major General (retd) Akram Sahi was appreciated.
