Bangladesh foreign Md Touhid Hossain is scheduled to meet Indian foreign minister S Jaishankar 8th Indian Ocean Conference

India-Bangladesh: Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs advisor Mohammad Tauheed Hussain may meet Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar during the Indian Ocean Conference to be held in Oman’s capital Muscat next week. Bangladesh can use this meeting in bilateral relations between the two countries and to prevent stress to give a message.

The 8th Indian Ocean Conference (IOC 2025) is going to be held in Muscat on 16-17 February. Last month, the Indian Foreign Minister invited Bangladesh’s Foreign Advisor to attend the conference. If there is a planned meeting between Tauheed Hussain and S Jaishankar, then this will be their second talk in five months.

Last meeting was held in September

Tauheed Hussain and S Jaishankar first met in New York during the United Nations General Assembly session in September last year. On August 5, the Awami League government of Sheikh Hasina fell due to the mass rebellion of the students and the students in Bangladesh. In this changed context, his discussion in New York focused on advancing bilateral relations on issues of mutual interest.

Indian Foreign Secretary also visited

After the New York talks, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Egypt visited Dhaka in December last year. During his visit, he met Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Mohammad Jasim Uddin.

During this, he also met Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus, Foreign Advisor Tauheed Hussain and Army Chief General Waqar-e-Zaman, Chief Advisor of the Interim Government of Bangladesh. At that time, both countries were discussing to normalize relations and reduce the stress after August. Sheikh Hasina is also in India since the coup in Bangladesh. Because of this, the relationship between the two is not going well. Bangladesh has demanded to send them several times.
