Police Wednesday resorted to lathicharge and used water cannons to disperse hundreds of Youth Congress staff marching in the direction of Shymala Hills in Bhopal on Wednesday to gherao the Chief Minister’s residence. The staff had been protesting towards inflation and unemployment and in assist of OBC reservation.
While many staff suffered accidents, National Youth Congress president Srinivas BV, state president Vikrant Bhuria and MLA Jaivardhan Singh together with a whole lot of occasion staff had been bundled into police vans and detained.

The roadshow with over 2,000 staff began from Congress workplace after the handle by the president of the Congress Committee, Kamal Nath, round 1 pm. Srinivas, Bhuriya, and Kunal Chaudhary led the protest.
However, only a few meters forward, they had been stopped by the police who had barricaded the roads and deployed no less than 4 water cannons amid heavy police bandobast. The staff started crossing over the barricades when the police, headed by DIG Irshad Wali, used water cannons and lathi cost to thwart them.
The preliminary plan to ‘Gherao Vidhan Sabha’ was modified to that of the gherao of CM House after the four-day lengthy monsoon session was adjourned sine die on Tuesday, a day earlier than the protest.

MLA Jaivardhan Singh mentioned that “every drop of Congress worker’s blood spilled is dedicated to Madhya Pradesh”, including “we are committed to the people of the state and our struggle will continue. The BJP government headed by Shivraj Singh Chouhan has become insensitive to the people of the state”.
