Biden Cancels Trip To Delaware, Monitors Afghanistan From D.C.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden is not going to spend the weekend at his home in Delaware in any case.

The White House stated Saturday that Biden would not travel to Wilmington as deliberate. No quick clarification was given.

The announcement from the White House got here as Biden was scheduled to fulfill along with his nationwide safety crew “to hear intelligence, security and diplomatic updates on the evolving situation in Afghanistan.”

The Taliban takeover of Afghans final Sunday has consumed his administration, which was caught off-guard by the event and is scrambling to evacuate 1000’s of Americans, Afghans who assisted the U.S. through the conflict, and others.
