britain king charles took back the honours from two british indian community leaders

British King Charles III’s Order : Britain’s King Charles III has withdrawn honors from two leaders of the British Indian community. The names of these two prominent personalities of the British Indian community are Rami Ranger and Anil Bhanot, managing trustee of Hindu Council UK. Of these, one has been stripped of his honor for speaking for Bangladeshi Hindus and the other for supporting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to media reports, this was announced in the ‘London Gazette’ on Friday (6 December). The report said that both the British Indians will be asked to return their insignia to Buckingham Palace. At the same time, Rami Ranger and Anil Bhanot have condemned the announcement of this order and called it an attack on freedom of expression.

With which honor are both the British Indians honored??

It is noteworthy that millionaire Rami Ranger was given the title of CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) and accountant Anil Bhanot, who runs a community arts center in Leicester, was given the title of OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire). From whom King Charles III has now demanded this honor back.

Let us tell you that a confiscation committee considers those cases in which the holder of the honor may be considered to have defied the honor system. The recommendations of the confiscation committee have been submitted to the King through British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Didn’t pay attention to my argument– Anil Bhanot

Anil Bhanot, who received the OBE award, said, ‘The confiscation committee had contacted him in January and he had presented his side.’ According to the report, Bhanot informed that the complaint alleging Islamophobia was about violence against Hindus in Bangladesh in 2021. He said that at that time our temples were being destroyed and Hindus were being attacked but the media did not cover it. I felt something should be said. I have done nothing wrong nor have I defamed the honor system. He further said that freedom of expression has now become a thing of the past in England. I am quite troubled by this. Because it is an honor, I don’t think he paid any attention to my argument.

This decision is unjust, will challenge it– Rami Ranger

A spokesman for Lord Rami Ranger, a supporter of the Conservative Party and founder of UK-based FMCG firm Sun Marks Ltd, called the decision unjust and said he would challenge the decision. Rami Ranger was awarded the CBE by the late Queen Elizabeth II in December 2015 for services to British business and the Asian community.
