Pakistan Peoples Party’s Syed Waqar Mehdi was elected Senator from Sindh with 111 votes.
The counting of votes in the by -elections for the Senate seat in the Sindh Assembly has been completed, Pakistan Peoples Party’s Syed Waqar Mehdi won by 111 votes, MQM Pakistan got 36 votes.
Returning Officer Sindh Election Commissioner Sindh Ijaz Anwar Chauhan announced the results and said that 2 votes were rejected due to false marking.
The PPP’s Waqar Mehdi and MQM’s Nighat Mirza were contested, the PPP had 116 members while MQM Pakistan had 36 votes.
PTI and Jamaat -e -Islami have boycotted the election, after the death of Taj Haider of the PPP, the seat was vacated.
