Provincial Nominee Program In Canada: There is a great news for Indians dreaming of a permanent home in Canada. The Government of Canada invited 1,085 foreign nationals to apply for permanent residence under its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). This Express Entry draw, held on December 16, 2024, is offering a great opportunity for people wishing to immigrate to Canada through the PNP. Earlier on December 2, 676 people were invited for permanent residence under this PNP program.
According to the report of Financial Express, foreign citizens wishing to settle in Canada can get permanent resident status through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). This program allows them to work and settle in a particular province or region. PNP is specifically for workers who have skills, education and work experience. Each province and territory has its own immigration programs that meet the different needs of workers.
For whom is the Express Entry System?
The Express Entry System is a point-based immigration system of the Government of Canada that selects skilled workers for permanent residence in Canada. This system is operated by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). This program is mainly for immigrants who want to settle and work in Canada based on their expertise and experience.
Programs covered under Express Entry System
The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) is for professionals who have higher education, work experience, and language proficiency. This is the most prominent way to take advantage of job opportunities in different provinces of Canada.
Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) It is for expert workers in technical and business fields. Like, construction work, machinery, and other technical professions.
Canadian Experience Class (CEC) It is for those who have already worked or studied in Canada. This program gives preference to applicants familiar with the Canadian labor market.
Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) This gives Canada’s provinces and territories the opportunity to select workers to meet local labor market needs.
After PNP nomination, applicants get 600 additional CRS points, which increases their chances of getting permanent residence.
