Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau big decision says he will not contest next election might quit politics

Canadian PM Justin Trudeau: The Canadian Prime Minister has lost from all sides after spoiling relations by making baseless allegations against India regarding the murder of Khalistan supporter and terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Justin Trudeau has announced that he will not contest the next federal election. This election is scheduled for October, but there is a possibility of it being held earlier. This decision of Trudeau is shocking, because he has also hinted at retiring from politics.

End of Trudeau’s political journey?
Justin Trudeau has served as the Prime Minister of Canada for the last 10 years. A decade ago, he gained popularity as a young and energetic leader when he entered politics. If Trudeau retires from politics, it will be the end of his political career.

Plans after leaving politics not clear
According to Global News, Justin Trudeau said, “I have decided not to contest the election.” He also admitted that he does not have any clear plan about what he will do after leaving politics. He said, “I don’t have time to think about what I will do later. Right now I am doing what the people of Canada have entrusted to me.”

MPs will remain till elections
After stepping down from the post of Prime Minister, Trudeau will continue to serve as an MP. When the Liberal Party elects a new Prime Minister, he will formally step down from the post. Trudeau’s decision to step down comes amid his declining popularity and international controversies. Many questions were raised on Trudeau after the baseless allegations made against India regarding the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Apart from this, US President Donald Trump’s threat to increase tariffs and Canada’s weak international position had also put Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in trouble.
