CDSCO extends shelf lifetime of Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin as much as 12 months

Hyderabad-based vaccine producer Bharat Biotech on Wednesday introduced that the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has authorized the shelf life extension of Covaxin Covid-19 vaccine to 12 months from the date of manufacture.

Earlier, Australia’s regulator, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), had stated that Covaxin can be “recognised for the purpose of establishing a traveller’s vaccination status”. Apart from Australia, a number of international locations like Greece, Oman, Mauritius and Philippines, amongst others had authorized Covaxin for travel a lot earlier than WHO’s approval.
