Central govt to renew biometric attendance for employees from Nov 8

The Centre has determined to renew biometric attendance for all workers from November 8, a round from the Personnel Ministry stated Monday.

It shall be the duty of division heads to make sure that sanitisers are positioned beside biometric machines and all workers sanitise their arms earlier than and after marking the attendance, it stated.

Mandatory biometric attendance was discontinued final yr following the Covid-19 outbreak.

“Physical distancing of six feet must be maintained by all employees while marking their attendance. If required, additional biometric attendance machines may be installed to avoid overcrowding,” the round to all ministries and departments stated.

All workers shall be required to put on masks or face covers always, together with whereas ready to mark their attendance. “Meetings, as far as possible, shall continue to be conducted on video conferencing and personal meetings with visitors, unless necessary in public interest, are to be avoided,” it stated.
