Champions Trophy: “100 percent return of Fakhrzaman to the national team”

Pakistan cricket team’s legendary batsman Fakhar Zaman has started preparing for a strong comeback in the Champions Trophy 2025 and is hopeful of returning to the home ground.

Pakistani batsman Fakhar Zaman told Viper Voices podcast in an interview that he is 100 percent hopeful of playing in the Champions Trophy 2025 and is preparing for the tournament with full effort.

Fakhrzaman said that currently his full focus is on the Champions Trophy, that’s why he did not play in Australia and South Africa, his focus is only on making himself available for the Champions Trophy and getting fully fit for the tournament.

Fakhar Zaman said that he was not part of the team after the T20 World Cup due to illness and fitness issues, but now he is 100 percent recovered.

“I spoke to the selectors, the head coach and everyone wanted me to play in the Champions Trophy, you will see me in the upcoming white ball series in Pakistan,” he said.

It should be noted that Fakhar Zaman has not played international cricket since the T20 World Cup in June 2024. He played his first ODI in the 2023 World Cup.

Fakhar Zaman played an important role in winning the title for Pakistan by playing a brilliant innings of 114 runs against India in the Champions Trophy 2017 final.

Fakhar Zaman praised the 22-year-old opener Saeem Ayub, saying that Saeem Ayub has started his ODI career brilliantly, with three hundreds and a fifty in nine innings, including centuries in Australia and South Africa. Hope he gets well soon.

Fakhrzaman added that Saim is such a great player that if he continues to play for the next four to five years, he will be among the top three players in the world.

“Pakistan has the three best players in the world in Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Saeem Ayub, so sometimes I feel lucky to be in the team,” he said.
