Crime In USA: The Consulate General of India in Chicago expressed condolences on the murder of Nukarapu Sai Teja, a student from Telangana. The incident took place outside a store in Chicago on Friday (November 29) when suspected robbers shot dead Sai Teja. The Consulate demanded immediate action against the culprits and assured all possible help to the victim’s family.

In a statement issued on social media platform X, the Consulate expressed deep concern over the murder of Sai Teja and demanded strict action against the culprits. “We are shocked and deeply saddened by the murder of Indian student Nukarapu Sai Teja. We demand immediate action against the culprits and pledge all possible support to the family and friends of the victim,” the statement said.

Teja was shot dead on 29 November

The victim’s uncle Talluri Srijan said that this incident happened on Friday (November 29) around 6 pm. According to Srijan, Sai Teja used to work part time while studying MBA in Chicago. Sai Teja was shot by two African American suspects while he was at the cash counter of the store and the robbers were demanding money. Teja gave the money, but despite this the suspects shot him.

Appeal to Indian Government to ensure security

The victim’s uncle expressed concern about the safety of Indian students after this incident and urged the Telangana state government and the Indian Embassy to ensure security. He said that in view of the increasing number of Indian students in America, concrete steps should be taken to deal with such incidents.

Concern over the safety of Indian students abroad

Talluri Srijan said “This is a big problem for us. We want Telangana and Central government to take action on this issue as soon as possible because many Indian students go to America to serve their country. The current conditions are unacceptable. The Indian Embassy and the state government should take care of the safety of the students.” In such a situation, it is believed that this incident has once again raised serious questions regarding the safety of Indian students abroad.
