Earthquake Strike : According to the report of BNO News Live, so far 53 people have died due to the severe earthquake that occurred in Shigatse city of Tibet on Tuesday (January 7, 2025). Due to this, there is an atmosphere of chaos in the entire area. Three powerful earthquakes that occurred in Tibet early in the morning have shaken China as well as many other countries including Nepal, India, Bangladesh.

Earthquake of magnitude 7.1

According to the National Center for Seismology, the first tremor of the earthquake was felt at 6.35 am on Tuesday (January 7). Its intensity was measured at 7.1 on the Richter scale. At the same time, the epicenter of this earthquake was 10 kilometers below the ground in Shijang, Tibet.

Along with Tibet, many countries including Nepal, China and Bangladesh also felt the tremors of this earthquake in many parts of India including Delhi-NCR, Bihar and West Bengal. After the first tremor which occurred at 6:35 am, the second tremor occurred at 7.02 am with a magnitude of 4.7. Then at 7:07 pm a third earthquake with a magnitude of 4.9 was felt.

Earthquake creates chaos in Nepal

The Geological Department of the Government of Nepal informed that strong earthquake tremors were felt in Nepal at 6:35 am. Its epicenter was in Dingay Kant, Tibet, located on the Nepal-China border, where an earthquake of 7.0 magnitude occurred. The effect of this earthquake was also seen in the eastern to central region of Nepal.

At the same time, after the earthquake in the capital Kathmandu, people came out of their homes due to fear. The earthquake that occurred early in the morning worried people because after a long time, strong tremors were felt in Kathmandu. However, no clear information has been received so far about the extent of damage caused by the earthquake.
