China on Indian Border : There is often tension regarding the border between India and China. Now China is increasing the air supply of weapons, supplies and oxygen tanks for its soldiers deployed in high altitudes. Actually, Chinese soldiers are not used to living in such high altitude areas of the Himalayas. There is also a severe shortage of oxygen in these areas. In such a situation, in case of medical emergency, Chinese soldiers were repeatedly airlifted to the nearest military hospital. For this reason, China has increased its air supply to rapidly expand military infrastructure in these areas. So that the Chinese Army can get convenience in staying near the Indian border for a longer period.
The PLA Daily, the mouthpiece of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), said, “The Chinese military has established a 20 km (12.4 mi) supply zone to improve the operational capability at its high-altitude border posts. Liu Hao, commander of a border regiment stationed at an altitude of 5,380 meters (17,700 feet) above sea level in the Hotan military subdistrict, told the newspaper that greater access to oxygen is important for the health of soldiers and boosting combat readiness. Hotan is located in Xinjiang on the Karakoram Plateau, not far from the Galwan Valley region.”
Lack of oxygen in many areas on India-China border
India and China share a disputed border of 3500 kilometers. This border was demarcated by the British, which passes through one of the harshest conditions on earth. There are many areas on the border between India and China, where the oxygen level is less than 40 percent of sea level. A PLA Daily report quoted military doctor Liu Wei as saying that the oxygen supply system at high-altitude border posts helps soldiers’ health and combat readiness.
China wants to increase pressure on India
