Chinese nationwide in US pleads responsible to stealing Monsanto secrets and techniques

A Chinese nationwide pleaded responsible on Thursday in Missouri federal courtroom to conspiring to steal commerce secrets and techniques from agricultural firm Monsanto to profit the Chinese authorities, the United States Justice Department mentioned.

Xiang Haitao, who was employed by Monsanto and a subsidiary from 2008 to 2017, pleaded responsible to at least one depend of conspiracy to commit financial espionage and is scheduled to be sentenced on April 7, the Justice Department mentioned in an announcement. He faces a most penalty of 15 years in jail.
