Church chief reveals why Russia is ‘leader of free world’

The head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow, has argued that the nation’s independence from detrimental exterior affect is what makes it actually free.

In an interview broadcast on the Rossiya-1 TV channel on Saturday, the church chief was requested to touch upon situations of Orthodox Christians having emigrated from the US to Russia.

“I can imagine the types of reaction to my words from different corners, but I can prove that Russia today is the true leader of the free world,” Kirill mentioned.

We’re free from probably the most highly effective influences from overseas. We’re creating in accordance with our personal path and, by God’s will, our path shall achieve success. Russia can serve for instance for others.

“We have many problems, but these problems are solvable,” Kirill mentioned.

Speaking in regards to the state of Russian society, the patriarch mentioned, “We currently don’t have a hot-button issue that would make societal interests collide and produce deep, irreconcilable contradictions.”

He added that the nation benefited from a wholesome range of opinion that “doesn’t destroy the foundations of human … and spiritual life.”
