Last night was the coldest night of this winter in the city, the minimum mercury on Saturday morning was recorded at 8.5 degrees Celsius, a decrease of 2 degrees compared to the previous day.

According to the Department of Meteorology, the weather in Karachi will remain cold and dry during the next 24 hours, while the intensity of the cold will be lower than the actual temperature due to freezing winds. 2 to 4 degrees more may be felt, minimum mercury in single digit of 8 degrees and maximum temperature of 25 degrees during the next 24 hours. Centigrade is expected, severe cold wave continues across the province.

Due to the freezing winds from north-east and north-west directions in Tharparkar of rural Sindh and Balochistan, the cold wave continues in the city. Grade recorded, Golestan-Johar temperature drops to 6.5 degrees.

According to the data of other weather stations, 8 degrees Celsius was recorded at Jinnah Terminal, Shahrah Faisal 8.5 degrees, Maripur 9 degrees, Bin Qasim 9.7 degrees Celsius.

According to the Department of Meteorology, the coldest night was in the city, but the previous record of cold was not broken. On December 14, 1986, the minimum mercury in the city was recorded at 1.3 degrees Celsius. On Saturday, the wind speed in the city was recorded at 20 km per hour.

Night temperatures may be 3 to 5 degrees lower in various districts, while morning fog is likely in upper and central districts.
