Covid-19 could make males STERILE, Russia’s Health Ministry warns


Covid-19 an infection results in drastic discount within the high quality of sperm and might make males infertile, the Russian Health Ministry mentioned citing latest knowledge.

“Today, the problems of infertility, especially male infertility, associated with Covid-19 are revealing themselves on a grander scale,” Elena Uvarova, the Russian Health Ministry’s chief gynecologist for youngsters and youths, instructed journalists at a press convention in Moscow. The knowledge gathered by Russian medics has proven a “38 percent reduction in quality of sperm” in males who recovered from the coronavirus, she mentioned. It was a worrying discovery, as the general high quality of the sperm in Russian males already wasn’t good, the physician added.

Researchers have been debating the potential influence of Covid-19 on male fertility because the pandemic started in China’s Wuhan in December. Some research mentioned that the virus affected the male reproductive system, whereas others found no abnormalities. A Chinese-US research in early June warned that the coronavirus might harm testicles with out infecting them. It attacked and enlarged sperm-producing cells to the extent that manufacturing of semen was affected.
