Cristiano Ronaldo clarifies retirement rumours

Cristiano Ronaldo has clarified his early retirement statement by saying that he will continue to play for the next year or two.

“Soon for me means 10 years, no, but I’m joking and I’m enjoying the game now,” Cristiano Ronaldo from Portugal said in a video statement regarding early retirement.

“When you get to a certain age in football, you feel the months go by quickly,” he said.

“At the moment I’m feeling great, I’m scoring goals and feeling fit and enjoying my game with the national team, but to be honest I mean a year or two sooner,” Ronaldo said.

Cristiano Ronaldo started his football career with Sporting in 2002 and has scored over 950 goals for his country and club so far and recently revealed in an interview that he will retire soon to spend more time with his family.

Ronaldo won the Euro Cup for Portugal in 2016 and has won the Ballon d’Or 5 times, but his dream of winning the World Cup has not been fulfilled.
