To accelerate economic growth through strong business, trade and exports, exporters, industrialists and the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) have urged the government to formulate a pro-business Strategic Textile Policy Framework (STPF). and formulate a textile and apparel policy, priority should be given to the export sector for immediate implementation and implementation of the policy.
He emphasized that the policy should include sustainable, feasible, and practical measures, as many of the measures outlined in the previous 2020-2025 policies have not been implemented.
KCCI President Muhammad Javed Balwani and Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers Association (PHMA) Central Chairman Muhammad Babar Khan highlighted the urgent need to improve these key policies, which are due to expire this year.
During a meeting at KCCI, he urged to end the ambiguities that have left several issues unresolved in the last five years.
He insisted that the policies should be finalized in close consultation with key stakeholders including KCCI, PHMA and various export associations to ensure a comprehensive and effective framework.
On this occasion, Muhammad Babar Khan said that the GSP status has an important role to increase exports to the European Union, to make it possible for the continuation of the GSP status, there is a need to put pressure on the government to make such policies. , allowing the GSP status to continue.
