Islamabad:
Political differences between the ruling party Muslim League-N and the People’s Party emerged in the National Assembly.
The People’s Party refused to cooperate until the Prime Minister came to the House and sought assurances to fulfill the promises on the pending issues.
According to sources, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif contacted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on telephone and informed about the complaint regarding the quorum of PPP, after which Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq also met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Ayaz Sadiq raised the issue of lack of interest of the government members and said that the members do not like to sit in the House, he requested the Prime Minister to take notice.
After negotiations in the Speaker’s Chamber, the government assured that the Prime Minister would come to the House on Tuesday.
Syed Naveed Qamar said that the People’s Party does not want to boycott the House, but the government should resolve the issue of quorum.
Naveed Qamar said that if the Prime Minister comes to the House, the problem of quorum will be over.
