Archaeologists from Durham University, UK and Al-Qadsiyah University, Iraq have discovered the exact location of the famous Islamic battle “Battle of Qadsiyah” with the help of images taken by a US spy satellite.
This place is located near the city of Kufa on the border of Iraq and Saudi Arabia, whose pictures were taken secretly by the American satellite during the Arab-Israeli war in 1973 and were declassified some time ago so that experts can research them.
The experts were researching the famous Hajj route from Iraq to Makkah “Darb-e-Zubaida” through photographs.
In the photographs, there were clues about the Battle of Qadsiya written in the books of Arab historians, which determined the location of the battle, which had been lost under the dust of history.
Iraqi experts then arrived at the site, which is now deserted, and found not only the population but also signs of war.
In November 636 AD, the Islamic army under the leadership of Hazrat Umar Farooq, Hazrat Saad bin Abi Waqqas, fought against the Iranian Sassanid and Byzantine army, whose commander was Rustam, in the decisive Battle of Qadsiyya. It was a very important battle in the early history of Islam to raise the flag of Islam as far as Iran and India.
