Donald Trump Us President: Donald J. Trump took oath as the 47th President of America on Monday. Trump announced several executive decisions and said that America’s “Golden Age” begins now.
In a powerful address after his swearing-in, Trump described January 20 as ‘Liberation Day’. He said that now America’s good days will begin and change will come “very soon”. He said, “America will regain its rightful place as the greatest, most powerful, most respected nation on earth, earning the country the admiration of the entire world.”
Republican Party leader Trump (78) has returned to the White House with a strong leadership and the vision of a powerful president. He has also promised to aggressively change US policies in many areas including immigration, tariffs and energy.
The new President of America listed some steps that he will take immediately. These include declaring a national emergency on the US-Mexico border, changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of the Americas, and reclaiming the Panama Canal.
He said, “From today onwards our country will prosper again and will be respected all over the world. Every country will be jealous of us and we will never let anyone take advantage of us.
Trump (78) expressed his commitment to keep America “first”. Republican Party leader Trump said that under his leadership the country will “prosper and be respected.”
“After years of illegal and unconstitutional restrictions on speech, I will sign an executive order to end all forms of ‘censorship’ and restore freedom of speech to America,” he said.
Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar participated in the swearing-in ceremony as the special envoy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“The scales of justice will be rebalanced,” Trump said. The brutal, violent and unfair weaponization of the Justice Department and the government will end. “We will not fail,” he said. From this day forward America will be a free, sovereign and independent nation. The future is ours and our golden age begins now.
In his address, Trump also promised to increase domestic oil production, form a government entity to collect taxes as promised and cancel the program to promote electric vehicles. Before Trump, J. D. Vance took oath as Vice President.
Became President by defeating Kamala Harris
Trump had registered a landslide victory over his rival and Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris in the November 5 presidential election. During the election campaign, Trump was attacked twice with the intention of killing him. Trump also had to face impeachment twice while he was president.
Four years ago, Trump unsuccessfully attempted to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election to remain in office. His victory in the latest election has been considered the most remarkable victory in American political history.
Many people including Trump’s wife Melania, his daughter Ivanka and Ivanka’s husband Jared Kushner were present.
Due to extreme cold in the US capital, the swearing-in ceremony was held in the Capitol Rotunda (central room of the Parliament House). Earlier it was planned to organize the swearing-in ceremony in an open space.
