Donald Trump On Syria Conflict: Rebel forces advancing rapidly in Syria say they have begun encircling the capital Damascus. On the matter, US President-elect Donald Trump said on Saturday (07 December 2024) that America “should not get involved” in the situation in Syria.
“In an unprecedented move, opposition fighters in Syria have completely captured several towns in a highly coordinated attack and are now on the outskirts of Damascus, apparently defeating Assad,” he wrote on social media platform X. “We are preparing to take a big step towards eviction.”
What did Donald Trump say while mentioning Barack Obama?
“Russia is deeply entrenched in Ukraine and appears unable to stop this literal march through Syria, with the loss of more than 600,000 troops there, a country it has protected for years,” he said. This is where former President Obama refused to honor his commitment to protect the red line in the sand and everything went wrong with Russia’s interference. “But now he is being taken out, possibly like Assad, and that may actually be the best thing for him.”
Opposition fighters in Syria, in an unprecedented move, have totally taken over numerous cities, in a highly coordinated offensive, and are now on the outskirts of Damascus, obviously preparing to make a very big move toward taking out Assad. Russia, because they are so tied up…

‘Syria is not our friend’
“There was never a huge benefit for Russia in Syria, other than making Obama look really stupid. In any case, Syria is a mess, but is not our friend and the United States should have nothing to do with it. This is not our fight. Let it ride. Don’t get involved!”
