Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and his cupboard will determine on Friday whether or not to resign over his authorities’s mismanagement of childcare advantages, after a parliamentary inquiry discovered final month that it had led 1000’s of households to monetary hardship.
A Cabinet assembly has kickstarted at 10am on the Binnenhof in The Hague, to debate the political penalties of the advantages affair, which may result in the collapse of the primary Dutch authorities since 2012.
Pressure on Rutte’s four-party coalition to stop mounted on Thursday, after the chief of the opposition Labour social gathering (PvdA), Lodewijk Asscher resigned. While the centre-left social gathering will not be a member of Rutte’s ruling coalition, it was a member of his earlier authorities, throughout which, the scandal occurred.
