Extortion incidents in Karachi, law enforcement agencies mobilized, 3 suspects arrested

After successive incidents of extortion came to light in the city, the law enforcement agencies took action and arrested 4 accused.

According to the sources, 2 important raids were conducted against the extortion mafia of the Special Investigation Unit Police and the Federal Sensitive Civilian Institution, the suspects involved in the shooting at the car showroom on New MA Jinnah Road have also been arrested, the extortionists had demanded Rs 50 lakh from the car showroom owner.

Sources said that the SIU and the Federal Sensitive Civilian Organization conducted an intelligence-based operation in different areas of New Karachi, New Karachi Sector 5F and 5G, and arrested two suspects, Waqar and Ijaz, and a mobile phone was also recovered from their possession and important evidence was also obtained from it.

In this regard, it was told that the number of the extortion caller was stored in the mobile phone of the arrested accused Ijaz, on which the main accused Junaid who called the extortion was also arrested, the arrested accused had demanded Rs 50 lakh from the owner of the car showroom and to scare him, they fired at the showroom, which damaged the cars parked outside.

In another successful operation against extortionists of SIU and federal sensitive civilian agency, one accused Salman Haider was arrested, the arrested extortionist had demanded Rs 10 crore extortion from the owner of a marble factory in Manghopir, using an international number.

Sources said that to scare the factory owner, a parcel was also sent with 2 pills along with a slip.
