Fierce plane accident in southern Sudan, 18 people lost their lives

Plane Crash in South Sudan: An aircraft crashed in the Unity state of South Sudan on Wednesday (January 29, 2025). The aircraft had 21 passengers and crew members. So far 20 people have died in this accident. According to the United Nations Radio Miraya report, the plane was flying from an oilfield in southern Sudan. South Sudan Information Minister Michael Makui has not given any response immediately regarding this horrific plane accident.

However, Unity State Information Minister Gatwach Bipal said that the aircraft crashed at Unity Oilfield Airport on Wednesday (January 29) while flying the capital Juba. Bipal said, “All the passengers sitting on the aircraft were oil workers of the Greater Pioneer Operating Company (GPOC). Explain that GPOC is a union that includes China National Petroleum Corporation and government -owned Nile Petroleum. ” He said that two Chinese and one Indian citizen are among the dead.

One person’s life left in a horrific accident

Information Minister Gatwach Bipal did not give much information about the reasons behind this horrific accident. According to media reports, after the incident, the death toll was stated to be 18 in the beginning. But Biple told the Reuters that two more people died later. At the same time, a person has survived alive.

In the last few years, there have been many aircraft accidents in war -torn South Sudan. In September 2018, a small aircraft, going from the capital Juba to Yirol city, crashed. In which at least 19 people lost their lives. At the same time, in the year 2015, a Russian -made cargo aircraft from the capital Juba crashed while flying. Dozens of people were killed when the plane crashed.
