Financial irregularities of billions of rupees in Lahore Solid Waste Management Company during PTI era

During the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf era, a major financial irregularity came to light in the Lahore Solid Waste Management Company.

The audit report of the year 2020-21 revealed that the Lahore Solid Waste Management Company distributed billions of rupees to its preferred contractors.

Without fulfilling legal requirements, Solid Waste Management distributed 8 billion 65 crore 90 lakh rupees to preferred contractors.

Billions of rupees were paid in advance to the contractors in the name of garbage collection, while money was also provided illegally for washing the roads.

Payment was made without confirmation of completion of work.

Lahore Waste Management Company is also reluctant to appear before the Department Audit Committee on the financial irregularities of billions.
