First half of 2020 warmest 6 months since information started in Russia, home to world’s coldest inhabited locations

As world warming accelerates, temperature information are being damaged yearly. In Russia, the interval from January to June this 12 months was the warmest six-month spell since meteorological observations started.

“It turns out that the average temperature in Russia, for six months of 2020, is the highest in 130 years of meteorology, for the entire period of instrumental observations since 1891,” Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the nationwide Hydrometeorological Center, mentioned.

He added that the all-time-high was primarily because of the unusually heat winter months.

In January, the temperature was, on common, 10-11 levels Celsius larger than regular. Last month, Vilfand famous that Russia had seen greater than 240 damaged climate information within the first half of the 12 months.

However, this 12 months “is special,” he mentioned.
