Trump has named Elon Musk, the owner of Tesla and Twitter, to head the Department of Government Performance and Spending (Doge) in his cabinet.
Elon Musk shared the Republican lawmaker’s letter in one of his tweets and wrote that ‘Imagine, the government is giving these terrorists (Taliban) 40 million dollars every week from our taxes.
Elon Musk asked if we were really funding him. Giving millions of dollars in aid to terrorists (Taliban government) is complete madness.
It should be remembered that a senior Republican lawmaker in his letter written to Donald Trump on January 2, 2025 urged him to stop US aid to Afghanistan.
In his letter, Tim Burchett cited concerns that nearly $100 million in foreign aid to the Afghan Taliban from non-governmental organizations (NGOs) has been paid in the form of ‘taxes’.
Earlier, in the report submitted to the Legislative Assembly, the American organization said that the country that provides the most aid to Afghanistan has become the United States.
