Hafiz Naeem -ur -Rehman, Amir of Jamaat -e -Islami Pakistan, has said that it is necessary to control the Fake News but the rulers should not advance their ulterior motives under the guise of the Paca Act, to ensure freedom of expression, the Jamaat -e -Islami will fully support the Islamic journalist organizations in the struggle against the Pika Act.
He expressed these views in a meeting with a delegation of CPNE led by Kazim Khan. The delegation of CPNE included Ghulam Nabi Chandio Secretary General, Ayaz Khan Senior Vice President, Tanveer Shaukat Deputy Secretary, Arshad Arif Chairman Media Free Committee, Ijaz -ul -Haq and former Secretary General.
Secretary General of Jamaat -e -Islami Amir -ul -Azim and Secretary Information Shakeel Ahmed Tarabi were also present at the meeting. Hafiz Naeem -ur -Rehman, Amir of Jamaat -e -Islami Pakistan, has said that when India is defeated, there is a passion and consensus in the nation.
The Amir Jamaat -e -Islami demanded the government to immediately withdraw the Packa Act and unanimously legislate after a massive consultation.
He said that the Jamaat -e -Islami would participate in the activities of journalists regarding the Pika Act, during the Pak -India war, the media of Pakistan showed professionalism and emerged as responsible media, on the contrary, the coverage of the Indian media became the center of laughter around the world.
The participants of the delegation of Kazim Khan and the CPNE said that before the war, the campaign was launched against the Pakistani media that news was given against irresponsible and national security, but after the war, the government and the military spokesman acknowledged that Pakistan’s media had performed perfection.
The DGISPR has also thanked the domestic media, Hafiz Naeem -ur -Rehman also talked about timely and ensuring the payment of salaries of media housing workers, to which CPNE President Kazim Khan agreed that the CPNE would add it to its agenda.
He said that the full implementation of it would be on receiving arrears from the federal and provincial governments.
