Late Dharmendra of Bollywood passed away on 24 November 2025. After this, Deol family and Hema Malini had organized a prayer meet for the actor at their respective homes. Now today (11 November 2025) Hema Malini and her daughters Esha Deol and Ahana Deol have also organized a prayer meet for Dharmendra in Delhi. Many big personalities are coming here and paying tribute to the late actor.
Esha Deol along with Hema Malini and her ex-husband Bharat Takhtani and Ahana Deol hosted Dharmendra’s prayer meet. During this period, many prominent personalities from the political world also participated. From Union Minister Amit Shah, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to BJP MP Ravi Kishan came to pay tribute to Dharmendra.
‘He was always down to earth’
Remembering Dharmendra in the prayer meet, Hema Malini said- ‘He was the most cheerful and sociable. Despite being at the peak of fame, he never considered himself different. He was always down to earth. Everyone liked his nature. Be it any class of people, big or small, rich or poor, his own or strangers, he used to talk to everyone with great love and respect. My association with Dharmendra ji goes back 57 years. When I came into the film industry, I got the opportunity to do most films with him. We worked together in more than 35 films. More than 25 of them were hits.
Amit Shah remembered Dharmendra
Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to the actor in Dharmendra’s prayer meet. According to PTI, during this time he said- ‘Today a prayer meeting has been organized in the memory of Dharmendra ji, and we are all present here with a heavy heart to pray for the peace of his soul. When I was the party president and Hema ji was contesting elections from Mathura in 2014, she called me. He had said that he would be happy if the letter sent by him reaches Hema ji. His health did not allow him to walk on dusty roads or campaign for Hema ji in such an environment, but the concern he expressed over the phone was not just a formality.

The Home Minister further said- ‘I could really feel how worried he was about Hema ji’s victory. Dharmendra ji was awarded the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997 and Padma Bhushan in 2012. To complete his career of 60 years without any blemish shows how pure a person he was.
Dharmendra used to call Ravi Kishan as ‘Biba Munda’
Ravi Kishan also prayed for the peace of the soul of late actor Dharmendra. He said- ‘We will miss him a lot. He was a very lively and truthful person, who always supported his producers. Even after giving blockbuster films, he never demanded increase in fees. I learned a lot from him. He used to lovingly call me ‘Biba Munda’ and used to give me a lot of affection… To help me, he also did a film with me in 1993, which was named ‘Agni Morcha’. He was a great personality.
