Home Affairs Advisor of Bangladesh Said All Unequal Treaties With India Will Be Discussed | Between Seema Tanah, a big statement of Bangladesh’s Home Affairs Advisor, said

Mohammad Jahangir Alam Chaudhary, Lt Gen (Retd), Advisor for Home Affairs in the Interim Government of Bangladesh, said on Wednesday that all the ‘uneven treaties’ with India will be discussed during the tenure of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Awami League government.

While addressing a press conference held at the upcoming Indo-Bangladesh Border Security Conference, Chaudhary accused the citizens of India of making drugs and smuggling them in Bangladesh while addressing a press conference on the upcoming Indo-Bangladesh Border Security Conference, according to a report by the Dhaka Tribune newspaper.

He said, ‘They make fansidils and smuggle it in Bangladesh. Although they call it a medicine, it is actually a drug.

Chaudhary said that mutual acceptance between the two countries is necessary for any activity within 150 yards from the border and there is no scope for unilateral action for any side.

He said that if a mosque or temple is to be constructed under a development project, then the consent of both countries will be mandatory. Special emphasis will be laid on ensuring this consent in future.

The Bangladeshi advisor said that the alleged firing on unarmed Bangladeshi citizens on the border will also be discussed in the conference. He also said, ‘Cases of Border Security Force (BSF) or Indian citizens allegedly abducted or detained Bangladeshi citizens will be discussed in a meeting.’

He said, ‘Special attention will be paid to measures to prevent border violations, illegal entry and infiltration. Also, priority will be given to prevent smuggling of illegal drugs such as fencidils, weapons, ammunition and explosives from India to Bangladesh.

Chaudhary said that issues such as justified splitting of rivers, implementation of water agreements and reopening of Rahimpur canal will also be discussed.
